Most visitors don’t scroll. They decide in one screen:
- What do you do?
- Is this legit?
- Is this for me?
- What should I do next?
If your first screen is vague, busy, or “pretty but unclear”, you lose good leads even with great work behind the scenes.
This article gives you a simple layout you can apply to almost any service website, without a redesign.
What “One‑Screen Offer” means
One screen = what people see before they scroll (especially on mobile).
Your goal is not to explain everything. Your goal is to make the next step obvious:
- clarity (what you do)
- proof (why trust you)
- direction (one primary action)
The layout (6 blocks, in this order)
1) Clear headline (who + outcome)
Don’t lead with “Welcome” or “We build solutions”. Lead with a direct outcome.
Template: I help [who] get [result] with [service].
2) Sub‑headline (remove doubt)
One short line that answers: “Is this for me?” and “What’s the process?”
Template: Custom‑built, fast, and simple. Clear scope, fixed timeline, no drama.
3) One primary CTA (single next step)
Pick one action. Not three buttons. Not five links.
- Best CTA for services: “Request FreeCheck” / “Get a Quote” / “Book a Call”
- Secondary CTA (optional): a text link, not a second button (ex: “View pricing”).
4) 3 bullets (outcomes, not features)
Make them concrete. People buy outcomes.
- Increase trust in the first 5 seconds
- Fast load, clean mobile layout, no weird bugs
- A clear next step that turns visits into leads
5) Proof strip (micro‑proof)
You don’t need a huge testimonials section above the fold. You just need one believable proof.
- a short testimonial (1–2 lines)
- a number (projects shipped, load time, response time)
- logos / “Worked with …”
- a guarantee (example: “Fixed-price scope. No surprise fees.”)
6) Mini‑process (3 steps)
This reduces anxiety. People trust a clear process.
- FreeCheck: you send URL + goal
- Plan: I reply with scope + quote
- Build: ship fast, test mobile, launch
Copy templates you can paste today
Headline
- I build [website type] for [audience] so they can [result].
- Turn your website into a lead machine, fast, clean, mobile‑first.
Sub‑headline
- Simple scope. Fast delivery. Built for trust, speed, and conversions.
- One page or multi‑page, custom coded, lightweight, and easy to maintain.
CTA
- Request FreeCheck →
- Get a Quote →
- See Pricing →
Mobile rules (so it works on real phones)
- Headline: max 2 lines. If it wraps 4 lines, rewrite it.
- Buttons: one primary button, full width on mobile.
- Images: don’t let the hero image push the CTA below the fold.
- Spacing: breathe. More whitespace = more trust.
- Speed: avoid heavy sliders/video in the first screen.
One‑screen audit checklist (10 items)
- Can a stranger explain what you do in 5 seconds?
- Does the headline mention who and the result?
- Is there one main CTA?
- Is the CTA visible without scrolling on mobile?
- Do the bullets describe outcomes (not tools)?
- Is there at least one proof element above the fold?
- Do you show a simple process (even 3 steps)?
- Is the design clean (no clutter, no tiny text)?
- Is the page fast and stable (no layout jumps)?
- Does the user know what happens after clicking the CTA?
Rule of thumb: if you need to explain your homepage in chat, your homepage is doing the explaining too late.
